An Attitude of Gratitude

When families and friends gather to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday next week, most of us will take a moment to share with one another the things for which we are grateful. We thought we’d help get the ball rolling by offering our thanks for the following:

  • A record-breaking audience at our fall luncheon—new faces and new friends joined long-time supporters to learn about our work and about the daily successes in Grand Rapids Public Schools.
  • Dozens of dynamic volunteers—these include the team that visited every elementary building to read with first graders earlier this month; the incredible cadre that helped our luncheon look beautiful and run smoothly; and finally, all the wonderful people who give their time to coach an elementary or middle school sports team. You all, every one of you make a difference in kids’ lives.
  • Our truly tremendous teachers! We can’t say it enough—for your tireless work making sure our children are smart, strong, safe and supported, we thank you FROM THE HEART!

Don’t forget another very important gathering next week—the 24th annual GRPS Turkey Trot!  One of our very favorite community races is just one week away. There’s still time to register!  Use your feet before you eat on Thanksgiving morning and join us in supporting GRPS athletics and healthy, active kids by participating in the 5K run/walk. There’s even a mini-Trot for kids.  Learn more and sign up here.
