On October 25, 2018, the Grand Rapids Student Advancement Foundation celebrated its 5th annual Foundation for the Future Luncheon – Literacy IS the Foundation for the Future! With more than 550 guests, the Foundation highlighted the importance of literacy and its direct impact on students’ future successes.

Taking guests on a whimsical journey of childhood memories, the Foundation welcomed our youngest guest,  Sawyer, who read a poem from his favorite book – Where the Sidewalk Ends. Through his sweet demeanor and fun mop of hair, Sawyer captured the hearts of all in attendance with his unique rendition of “The Crocodile’s Toothache,” by Shel Silverstein.

As always, the Luncheon was a powerful event that highlighted the mighty impact our guests can have by helping to provide GRPS students with a meaningful educational experience.
