GR8 Girls Challenges

2017 marked the launch of GR8 Girls Challenges all over West Michigan. Now, more than 10 months into the year, Challenges have proven to be a fun, fit and sweaty way to get out and get toned all for a good cause – GRPS Girls’ Athletics!

GR8 Girls – an initiative of GR8 Sports, Great Kids – is dedicated to supporting girls in sports at GRPS. The GR8 Girls Challenge is a monthly challenge to the community to join together for fitness, fun and a good cause. By promoting a fit mind, body and spirit, we help strengthen the next generation of women!

Thanks to participating local gyms and fitness centers, challenges range all over the exercise spectrum. With challenges like kickboxing, Barre, CrossFit, spin and yoga there is an activity for everyone! Because of the generosity of studios around Grand Rapids, the cost of the class will be donated back and the registration fees from each challenge will support the young girls of Grand Rapids Public Schools, who participate in after-school sports!

Participants have commented on the fun and supportive atmosphere, as well as how the challenges have been a great way to try new fitness activities without making a long-term commitment.

November 12: CKO Kickboxing (6670 Kalamazoo Ave SE Unit A, Grand Rapids) at 1:00PM

Have you ever wanted to try a kickboxing class but feel like you’ll be the only first-timer? Or are you a kickboxing pro excited to get your sweat on for a good cause? Join us for an hour of high intensity and heavy resistance training on heavy bags at GR8 Girls November challenge at CKO Kickboxing. Come out and workout with some cardio kicking and fat-burning exercise!

December 19: The Dailey Method (1551 Wealthy St SE, Grand Rapids) at 10:00AM
Join GR8 Girls for a one-hour Spin + Barre class (40 minutes Spin and 20 minutes Barre) on Saturday, December 9, hosted by The Dailey Method in Eastown. This Challenge combines Pilates, yoga, ballet barre training and Cycling.
